Introducing...Kim Cakebread: Face and Body Artist

— aka Stardust the Face Painting Clown

Hello and welcome to my site.

Many of you will know me as Stardust the Face Painting Clown, specialising in children’s entertainment since 1991.

I am very pleased and appreciative to have so many happy customers who invite me back year after year, to their celebrations, sometimes having up to three generations of revelers line up to have their faces painted. It is highly recommended for the young and the young-at-heart.

Face and body art is a wonderful way to break the ice and inspire creative avenue of self-expression for the guests. I love to bring a sense of fun and fantasy to your party. Glitter tattoos are a dazzling body decoration which last a few days — even after contact with water (if treated carefully) and are suitable for pool parties or late night events. Take home gifts of balloon animals/crafted twisty balloons are a popular way to end the festivities

  • Reliable staff:
  • Stardust is well known as a quality face painter and balloon clown in the community of Adelaide. With much experience working alongside fellow artists, agents and performers, I am able to source a team of talented quality people to look after your entertainment needs.

  • Quality teacher:
  • I have run workshops teaching Balloon Animals quarterly at WEA 2009-2010. Over the years I have taught several classes on face painting for beginners. In 2011, I was invited to teach professionals in face painting and body art at the Australian Body Art Awards and Convention held in Daylesford, VIC.

  • New directions:
  • In recent times I have extended my canvas and found joy creating beautiful art in the field of body painting. My favourite medium is professional stage make-up painted onto skin. People often ask me if I do other forms of art … I have done folk art, canvasses, sculpting, costume making, decorative head pieces, and backdrops. Most rewarding is creating art using a variety of these elements with body-art and photography. I like its spontaneous fleeting quality and limitless possibilities to try out new concepts. The artistic process itself is fun, we discuss style, colours preferred, subject, lighting, props and so on...and customise the design to suit the individual. For larger scale projects I like to collaborate with fellow artists to create something wonderful , sure to make an impact.

I have trained with professional body artists from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK and USA, keeping abreast of the latest trends and styles

Multi-award winning artist

I have competed successfully at numerous Body Art Competitions thoughout Australia :

  • 1st place in UV Section — 2011 Australian Body Art Awards
  • 1st place winner Sponge and Brush Category — 2010 Australian Body Art Awards
